Message from Jean-François Grosselin, SAB Group CEO
We confirm that our production factory located in Romania was destroyed last August 30th by a fire.
The human and environmental consequences are fortunately slight: indeed, we do not deplore any victims or injuries
Once the access to the site was made possible, our Teams intervened efficiently from Friday 1st September afternoon, less than 36 hours after the incident,
to identify and extract potentially reusable casting and machining equipment, in order to restart the activity as quickly as possible.
Some of our customers' specific tools have already been transferred to our other sites in France, as well as on to our suppliers. The diagnosis of those and their rehabilitation is in progress Production recovery is organized in close cooperation with our Customers, Suppliers and Industrial colleagues from means, available, and new ones invested by the Group SAB urgently.
We would like to strongly recognize the strong involvement of our employees, which reflects the responsiveness of our Groupe, and to thank them for their efforts.
An action plan has been defined and everything is being implemented to recover supplies as quickly as possible from our factories. We can ensure our clients of the determination of our group and of all of our teams for this purpose.
We have asked for the support of the Institutions to allow us, in a process compliant with the legislation, to welcome Romanian employees, volunteers, to strengthen and complete our work teams in France.
This increase of our capabilities is Phase 1 of our Shipment Recovery Plan. We will regularly transmit new information regarding the progress of our plan
In these circumstances, the teams and I thank you for your support
